"Glimmer" Beautiful Bizarre X Modern Eden International Group Exhibition

Girl peeks through peonies

’Glimmer’ group exhibition curated by Beautiful Bizarre Magazine and hosted by the fabulous Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco! Opening 7th of November 6-9pm and the exhibition runs for November 7th 2026 - January 7th 2027.

GLIMMER: A glimmer is the exact opposite of a trigger. Glimmers are small, everyday moments that make you feel joy, happiness, peace, or gratitude - which can help cue your nervous system to feel safe or calm. (The term was coined by Deb Dana)

Exceptionally excited to participate in this group exhibition on a topic I’ve used before in my paintings and one I try to practice everyday! As Agent Cooper suggested in the classic tv show of the 90s Twin Peaks: “
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret: every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it; don't wait for it; just let it happen. It could be a new shirt in a men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee."

So as the quote suggested-so I will suggest to you-to grab yourself a coffee or tea and treat yourself to the online preview accessible via the button above. This exhibition is a glorious feast for the senses and I know you will love it!

Artwork statement:
This work is about the tiny flickers that make you do a double take. The glimmers in nature and in humans. A small freckle, the shine in the eye or a droplet of water – those delicate and fleeting shimmers of exquisite beauty. In the work the face is half obscured by peony roses and the hidden part of the painting creates mystery and a desire to uncover and unveil. It is a tension between desire and possession or revealing that feels very Proustian. The desire is essentially futile, being a static image, but it is this futility and longing to know the unknown that holds the glimmer for me.
